Wando's Samantha Meredith and Cardinal Newman's Wyatt Millard have been selected as the 2017 SCSoccer.com Super XXII Players of the Year.
Meredith, a rising junior who has committed to the University of South Carolina, led Coach Shannon Champ's Warriors to the inaugural Class 5A State Championship match and a 20-3 record. The six-foot forward tallied 40 goals this season, including seven during Wando's postseason run to the Finals.
Millard, a graduated senior who has already enrolled at the United States Naval Academy where he signed to play collegiate soccer, guided Cardinal Newman to an 18-1-1 mark and Class 3A State Championship as members of the South Carolina Independent School Association. A fiery attacking midfielder, Millard notched 50 points on 16 goals and 18 assists as Coach Will Eudy's Cardinals finished 13th nationally in the USA Today/NSCAA Poll.
